Thirteen year old Abigail Kurdin and 15 year old Emily Hayes both received offers they couldn't refuse this summer and are leaving Dayton to study at two of the most highly regarded professional ballet schools.
Abigail Kurdin will be moving to Philidelphia to study at The Rock School for Dance Education and Emily Hayes will be moving to New York City to study at American Ballet Theatre's Jaqueline Kennedy O'Nassis School.
This is a rare honor and HSD is delighted to see these girls head out to pursue their dreams. We all look forward to hearing about your adventures.
Not only did every dancer who competed at YAGP this weekend look strong and polished, but many dancers received attention and compliments during the master classes.

CCB students have been accepted into the following summer intensives, often with scholarship: School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, The Harid Conservatory, The Rock School of Dance Education, The Kirov Ballet Academy, Ballet Chicago, North Carolina School of the Arts, Chautauqua Institution School of Dance, BalletMet, Cincinnati Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Houston Ballet Academy.
CCB will present Nutcracker 2011 and will need many dancers between the ages of 5 and 18. Look for audition information in the fall!
