For our littlest dancers, usually between 3 and 5 years old.  The emphasis is on movement, listening skills and fun!!  These classes are taught by qualified adult teachers.  Students may jump on a mini-tramp, wave fairy princess wands, and slap tambourines, but they will also learn basic ballet positions and learn a simple dance for the spring recital.

Aimed at students aged 5 - 7.  Here, students learn more ballet terminology, but still employ some of the "fun" activities of the Creative Movement classes when their attention spans are shortened by weather or the holidays.  This class prepares them for Ballet I and Ballet II.

Students are encouraged to continue developing their ballet skills as they mature in age.  We offer ballet classes starting at age 6.  We have something for every skill level and age.  We even teach beginning teens and young adults who wish to refresh their skills.

As students reach the age of 10 or 11, they often prefer to study contemporary dance instead of ballet.  Contemporary dancing uses more familiar music to which students relate well.  These classes use less dance vocabulary and are very creative in style.

Education in jazz technique may vary from teacher to teacher, but our classes always provide training in basic leaps and turns.  Movement and music is always age appropriate.  Jazz skills for older students may become "edgy" as it appeals to their culture and tricks will become harder.

Beginning tap classes offer flat-footed, basic tap movements at a slow pace.  Students then move to proper elevated tap execution and a constantly increasing tempo of music.

Still striving for age appropriateness, hip hop employs the most current music on the charts today.  Hip Hop began as street dance and so its roots are urban and less structured.  Cheerleaders and drill team members find the movement familiar.  Many older students take jazz and hip hop in conjunction with one another.
